Biography

Robert Amaro’s research involves testing and modelling of deformation in metals. The specific focus of his research is placed on environmental fatigue, including thermo-mechanical fatigue, hydrogen-assisted fatigue, and corrosion fatigue of metals. His current research is focused on testing and modelling of ductile fracture in pipeline steels, hydrogen-assisted fatigue in pressure-vessel and pipeline steels, and friction stir welding of aluminum alloys.
