Dr. Jiaze He’s research interests include computational ultrasonic imaging, full waveform inversion, nondestructive evaluation, structural health monitoring, machine learning, and smart structures. His lab, the Lab for Computational Imaging and Smart Structures, or CISS, develops and implements cutting-edge ultrasonic imaging methods for structures. Because of recent advancements in high-performance computing and quantitative imaging methods, his group will take the opportunity to push the limits on structural and material applications, such as nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring.
Before his arrival at UA, he was a postdoctoral research associate in the Theoretical & Computational Seismology Group at Princeton University and a research scholar at NASA Langley Research Center, during which he also served as an adjunct assistant professor in mechanical and aerospace engineering at North Carolina State University from 2016 to 2018.
