Abstract: This annual lecture series was established by Engineering Services, Inc. (ESi) and its CEO Dr. Michael E. Stevenson, a former doctoral student of Dr. Richard Bradt and an engineering graduate of Alabama. It was established to honor Bradt, a former chair of metallurgical and materials engineering and the Alton N. Scott Professor of Engineering at UA, on his receipt of the W.D. Kingery Award, the highest honor of The American Ceramic Society.
Biography: As director of ESi’s visualization practice group, Dr. Chuck Fox believes that technology has the power to reshape how we experience and connect with the world. He leads the visualization team in producing groundbreaking visualizations and animations that can be used to demonstrate highly technical and difficult-to-understand concepts. During his 20 years in the litigation graphics industry, Fox has established a reputation for being singularly focused on client needs. He is often a “go-to” for demonstrative aids and exhibits used in high stakes litigation, where scientific accuracy is paramount and the ability to help jurors clearly understand what happened and why can make or break a case. Fox has an extensive academic background in neuroscience, and he is frequently called upon to lend his insights on how visual teaching tools can help improve understanding and retention. He served as a neuroscience postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan Mental Health Research Institute and earned his doctorate in molecular cellular and developmental biology at Iowa State University.
