ALRI Awards Funds to Faculty to Address Neurodegenerative Diseases

There are no cures for many neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Research designed to elucidate target mechanisms as well as drug discovery research are important and are areas The University of Alabama is seeing grow.

UA College of Engineering Receives Three GAANN Grants

While the GAANN fellowship is restricted to domestic students, the chemical and biological engineering portion allows students to work as teaching assistants in a study-abroad course. The $746,250 grant will focus on polymers and soft materials, which coincides with current research projects within the University.
