Dr. Redha Wahidi specializes in experimental fluid dynamics with basic and applied research interests in unsteady flows, high-speed aerodynamics and flow control. His current research projects focus on unsteady vortex-body interaction (U-VBI) and three-dimensional shock-wave/boundary-layer interaction (3D-SBLI).
He conducts the U-VBI research in a water tunnel and subsonic wind tunnel facilities. He uses a supersonic wind tunnel for the SBLI research. Dr. Wahidi uses three-dimensional particle image velocimetry (3D-PIV) and 2D PIV for the flow field measurements in addition to other experimental techniques such as shadowgraph, surface-oil flow visualization, steady and unsteady pressure measurements, force measurements and hot wire anemometry. These experimental techniques help Dr. Wahidi explore the flow physics of the interaction of large-scale vortices with oscillating wings and the interaction of a shock wave with a moving body.
