Engineers are central to Alabama’s economic strength. The Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering is dedicated to preparing the next generation of engineers and computer scientists who will lead in construction, automotive and high-tech industries. Ways to give
There are a variety of ways to help you achieve your philanthropic goals in support of a department.
Endowed gifts
Endowed gifts are invested and managed by the University in perpetuity. They establish a legacy of learning, research and scholarship as they extend the impact of the donor’s generosity well beyond a lifetime. Endowments can be established with a one-time gift or pledged over a five-year period.
Annual gifts
Annual contributions, of all sizes, provide crucial funding for priority needs within a department, including scholarships, innovative learning experiences, lab equipment, and other immediate expenses. Recurring gifts can be established on a monthly or yearly basis. Your gift will have a positive impact on the Capstone.
Matching gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees.
Gifts of securities
When you donate securities to The University of Alabama, you receive the same income tax savings that you would if you wrote us a check, but with the added benefit of eliminating capital gains taxes on the transfer, which can be as high as 20 percent.
Planned gifts
Secure your legacy at the Capstone with a gift that makes a lasting impact. By including a bequest to The University of Alabama in your will or living trust, you are ensuring that we can continue our mission for years to come. Your gift also entitles your estate to a federal estate tax charitable deduction.
