Caroline Austin is majoring in aerospace engineering and mechanics and minoring in the Randall Research Scholars Program (RRSP) as a member of the Honors College. Austin was a National Merit Finalist and holds a 4.0GPA. She served as the secretary of Sigma Gamma Tau and as a member of Tau Beta Pi. Austin also received the Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics Department Outstanding Junior Award and the RRSP Outstanding Sophomore Award. She also interned at the NASA Glenn Research Center. As an undergraduate research assistant, Austin assisted Dr. Dario Martelli in studying the effects of electrical stimulation on balance and she is currently leading a project with the kinesiology department. Austin was the team lead for the Aerospace Engineering Senior Design Team, led the mentoring program with the RRSP Peer Resource Organization, served as president of the Alabama Gymnastics Club team, was an officer in Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and was on UA’s women’s varsity rowing team.
