Lacey Wicks is an instructor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Alabama and a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science. Her research focuses on cyber security education, computing education, experiential learning, and the use of emerging technologies to improve student learning and engagement. Her broader research interests include artificial intelligence in education, cyber security workforce development, computer science education, and the development of accessible computing and cyber security instruction.
Wicks has contributed to cyber security education and training initiatives involving organizations including the Department of Energy, Civil Air Patrol, and East Tennessee Technology Park. Her work is driven by an interest in expanding cyber security learning opportunities and preparing learners with the technical and problem-solving skills needed for computing and cyber security careers.
