Jeff Capili serves as a key advisor in business engagement, communication, and implementation in support of the College’s strategic priorities. He connects the University with industry partners to identify opportunities for research sponsorship, collaboration, and workforce development. In his former role as an Assistant Technology Manager with the technology transfer office, Jeff supported the protection and commercialization of the University’s intellectual property, with a focus on business development and external outreach.

Jeff brings significant experience spanning international diplomacy, higher education, and business development. He managed foreign government and U.S. State Department funded programs, provided policy recommendations to Ministries of Higher Education, and served as a liaison among universities, foreign governments and officials, and prospective international partners. Earlier in his career, Jeff gained technical experience in transportation design, operations, planning, business process outsourcing, and transition management. He was extensively involved in sales engagements, including developing business transition plans for numerous Fortune 500 clients. His professional work has taken him to more than 50 countries. Jeff received his MBA in global management from Thunderbird School of Global Management-Arizona State University, master’s degree in Transportation from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and bachelor’s degree in civil & environmental engineering from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
