College of Engineering Standard Operating Procedures

I. Introduction

The Office of Compliance, Ethics and Regulatory Affairs maintains a Policy Index of all University-, college-, and department-level academic, administrative, faculty and staff employment, privacy, security and communication, research and economic development, and student policies. The College of Engineering, as an academic unit within the University, defers to and is bound to comply with all University policies. Accordingly, the College encourages our faculty, staff, and students to review and be familiar with all relevant University policies.

As noted by the Office of Compliance, Ethics and Regulatory Affairs, “policies are clear, simple statements of how the University intends to conduct its business. They allow the University to identify requirements and define expected behaviors. They also provide a set of guiding principles to help with decision making.” The College of Engineering currently does not have any College-level policies; however, the College does maintain a series of Standard Operating Procedures intended to (a) describe how the various relevant University policies are operationalized with the College, (b) outline steps to be taken, (c) delineate roles and responsibilities, and (d) indicate any applicable forms or documents to use.

II. Standard Operating Procedures

Although the Standard Operating Procedures provided here are intended to reflect current guidelines and procedures of the College of Engineering, faculty, staff and students are cautioned that changes or additions may have become effective since the publication of this material. In the event of a conflict, current statements of University- or UA System-level policy contained in the Bylaws, Rules, official minutes, and other pronouncements of the Provost, President, Chancellor or Board of Trustees, or superseding law, shall prevail.
