Order of the Engineer

Welcome

The Styslinger College of Engineering is pleased to invite you to the Order of the Engineer and Pledge of the Computing Professional ceremony taking place on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025.

The Order of the Engineer and Pledge of the Computing Professional are professional organizations that seek to promote pride and dedication among engineers or computer scientists. To be initiated in each organization, individuals must participate in a ceremony in which they receive a ring (engineers) or a lapel pin (computer scientists) and take a solemn vow to uphold the standards of the engineering or computer science professions.

The College will induct December graduates into their respective organizations during a ceremony on Friday, Dec. 12, from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Moody Music Building (810 2nd Ave., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401).

For questions and more information about the ceremony, please contact the College’s External Affairs Office at events@eng.ua.edu or 205-348-7674.

We hope you will join us at this ceremony to celebrate your accomplishments and demonstrate your commitment to your profession before you graduate!
