Bio:
Prof. Feng Lin joined Brown’s School of Engineering in July 2025 after nine years of teaching and research in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech. His research interests include rechargeable batteries, low-temperature materials manufacturing, and interface characterization and optimization. His teaching interests span materials science, inorganic chemistry, battery technologies, and interdisciplinary topics in energy science. He received his PhD degree in Materials Science from Colorado School of Mines in 2012 and bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Tianjin University in 2009. He worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (with Marca Doeff) and QuantumScape prior to starting his independent academic career in 2016.
