Engineering ACEs

UA’s College of Engineering created the ACEs, a student ambassador program, in 1996 to promote professionalism and enthusiasm for the College.

Welcome

As president of the Ambassadors of the College of Engineering, I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about our organization. Our ACEs proudly represent the College by leading campus tours, supporting recruitment events and engaging with alumni, faculty and industry leaders.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: help every student who visits our College envision their future and recognize their potential in engineering. Whether you are a prospective student, a parent or a university guest, we want your time with us to be informative, encouraging and inspiring.

Our ambassadors come from various disciplines and backgrounds but share a passion for innovation, leadership and service. We are here not only to show you the spaces where groundbreaking engineering education and research happen but also to help you see yourself within them.

If you plan a campus visit, we look forward to welcoming you and sharing what makes the College of Engineering a dynamic and transformative place. If you are a student considering The University of Alabama’s College of Engineering, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our ACEs. We are always happy to help answer any questions and share our experiences.

Application

One of the primary responsibilities of an Ambassador for the College of Engineering (ACE) is to provide tours of the College of Engineering facilities to prospective students, families, and alumni. ACEs are responsible for helping with recruitment and outreach events as well as serving as hosts and hostesses for college sponsored events. ACEs are expected to keep up with the growth and development of the College of Engineering.

Applicants must be at least a second-semester freshmen or second-semester transfer student enrolled full time in the College of Engineering. Minimum cumulative grade point average required for application is 3.0, which must be maintained throughout ACE tenure. Applicant must be willing to devote an average of five hours per week to ACE activities during the academic school year.
