Engineering ACEs

UA’s Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering created the ACEs, a student ambassador program, in 1996 to promote professionalism and enthusiasm for the College.

Welcome

As President of the Ambassadors of the Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering, I sincerely thank you for taking the time to learn more about our organization at the University of Alabama. Our ambassadors proudly and professionally represent the College by leading campus tours, supporting recruitment initiatives, participating in student outreach, and engaging with alumni, faculty, and industry leaders.

Our mission as ambassadors is simple yet powerful: to help every student who visits our College envision their future and recognize their potential in engineering. Through meaningful connections and authentic experiences, our ambassadors make engineering approachable by relating complex concepts to students’ existing interests and experiences. We believe in showing rather than telling, illustrating what daily life looks like as an engineering student, explaining how opportunities unfold, and highlighting the many unique ways students can thrive in this field, especially here at the Styslinger College of Engineering. Whether you are a prospective student, a parent, or a university guest, our priority is to ensure your time with us is informative, encouraging, and, most importantly, inspiring.

While our ambassadors represent a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds, we are united by a shared passion for innovation, leadership, and service. We are not only here to showcase the spaces where groundbreaking engineering education and research take place, but also to help you envision a path that reflects your unique strengths, aspirations, and ambitions. Each tour is thoughtfully tailored to bridge the gap between technical language and real-world understanding, fostering conversations where students feel comfortable exploring their interests and asking meaningful questions.

If you plan to visit campus, we look forward to welcoming you to Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering and sharing what makes this College a focal point for dynamic and transformative engineering experiences. If you are a student considering the University of Alabama’s Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our ambassadors. We are always happy to help answer any questions you may have.
