Transfer Information

The College of Engineering welcomes students seeking to transfer into UA from other colleges and universities.

If you are planning to transfer to the University of Alabama from a junior or community college in Alabama, you will need to know the junior or community college equivalents to University of Alabama courses. STARS (Statewide Transfer and Articulation Reporting System) offers detailed information about course equivalencies and requirements. For the purposes of the STARS system, courses are organized into five categories:

Because Area V requirements are set at the college or departmental level, you must consult the college in which your major, program or elective is based to determine course equivalencies. Area V requirements for majors, programs and electives offered within the College Engineering are listed below.

We welcome students seeking to transfer into UA from other colleges and universities. You probably have a lot of questions, and while some of the answers may vary depending on your situation, we want this website to be a useful resource in making your transition to The University of Alabama.

Transfer Scholarships

Students must not have attended UA or any other four-year institution in order to be eligible for transfer scholarships. Eligible students must transfer from a community college with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA and 45 hours of completed coursework.
