Dr. He specializes in intelligent robotics and machine learning. The core of his research is knowledge-driven machine intelligence that closes the loop of planning, learning, and doing in dexterous robotic manipulation and autonomous navigation. Dr. He aims to answer these convergent questions toward a trustworthy intelligent system as well as deploy, adapt, and scale the trained systems for real-world scenarios. His research has been funded by NSF, NASA, DoT, and private sectors.
Dr. He is a senior member of IEEE. He currently servers as an associate editor for multiple prestigious robotics journals and conferences, including IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) and IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA). He has also been organizing several international robotics conferences such as the International Conference of Social Robotics (ICSR).
The Intelligent Robotics Laboratory directed by Dr. He has various robotic platforms, high-end sensors, and experiment equipment. The laboratory has the capabilities of software development, rapid prototyping, experiment, and evaluation for intelligent and automated systems.
