Education

  • Ph.D., Civil Engineering, Middle East Technical University

Dr. Maria Idrees served as a tenured associate professor at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, where Idrees taught and supervised graduate and postgraduate students. Idrees has over 12 years of experience in teaching and research and holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, where Idrees was awarded the HEC overseas scholarship. Idrees has reviewed for ACI Materials Journal, ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ACI Structural Journal, Advances in Cement Research, Journal of Building Engineering, Construction and Building Materials, Environmental Progress and Sustainable Energy, Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, Structural Concrete.

Idrees’ mission is to develop innovative construction materials and sustainable solutions for low-cost housing and infrastructure development, using special cements and polymer additives. Idrees has won multiple grants and completed impactful projects in collaboration with national and international partners, such as the Technology Development Fund HEC, the Pak-Turk Project at ITU Istanbul, and the SRGP research grant. Idrees has also published several papers in this field, and reviewed over above 50 publications and project proposals grants.
