UA Catalog Listing Graduate School Listing Degree Works

The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics offers a Master of Science in aerospace engineering and mechanics degree via an on-campus program and an off-campus (distance learning) program through OTIDE.

An MSAEM can be earned by a combination of coursework and an approved thesis (Plan I) or by coursework only (Plan II). Most distance learning students elect to complete the coursework only degree option. On-campus students supported by assistantships are expected to complete an approved thesis. Students have six years to complete either the Plan I or Plan II programs.

Official MSAEM program requirements for the 2025-2026 academic year catalog are documented in the graduate catalog. The graduate catalog outlines many relevant items including admission, curricular requirements, transfer credit, AMP, culminating experience, thesis and non-thesis option, and many more topics.

Students that enrolled prior to fall 2025 and have not switched to the 2025-2026 catalog can find archived catalogs here.
