Scholarships

To receive the Engineering Scholarship listed below and priority consideration for competitive scholarship awards, students must be admitted to the main campus before Jan. 10, 2025.

To maximize scholarship opportunities, students who wish to enroll in the fall and summer semester should be admitted by January 10. All students admitted by the listed deadline are evaluated holistically, based upon academic and non-academic information provided on their admission application for competitive university scholarships. If additional funding is available, students without a qualifying test score may be eligible for College of Engineering scholarship opportunities on a competitive basis. Academic components considered include high school GPA and academic honors. Non-academic items include leadership experience, volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, employment and non-academic honors.

Those who meet the criteria listed for Engineering Leadership Scholarship will receive the College of Engineering’s four-year, merit-based scholarship listed below. Please visit UA’s Undergraduate Scholarships for Entering Freshman Students page for full information on scholarship application requirements for entering freshmen.

Incoming freshmen must declare a major within UA’s College of Engineering by May 1, 2025 to qualify for the Engineering Scholarship. Students must maintain enrollment in a College of Engineering degree program to receive any College of Engineering scholarship. For more information, read the policies for scholarship retention.

Engineering Scholarship Program for 2025 – 2026 Academic Year
College of Engineering four-year merit based scholarship packages are awarded to incoming first-time freshman who are admitted by the priority deadline of January 10, 2025, have a qualifying score on the ACT or SAT by the end of December, and have at least a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA through December of the senior year. Students must fall into one of the following test score ranges:
Engineering Leadership Scholarship
$2,500/year for 4 years
ACT: 30-36 composite score
SAT: 1360-1600 score on redesigned exam
These awards are automatically offered to freshmen entering Fall 2025 directly from high school, regardless of residency. Engineering Scholarship Program awards will stack on top of scholarships offered by Undergraduate Admissions (excepting National Merit Finalist packages). The Engineering Leadership Scholarship will not be awarded to exceed the student’s cost of attendance. Students must declare an Engineering major by May 1, 2025, to qualify.

Should a merit scholarship recipient be named a National Merit Finalist, their Engineering Leadership Scholarship will be replaced by the National Merit Finalist Scholarship Package.

Please note, depending on the source of funding, the Engineering Leadership Scholarship may be renamed on student bills and financial aid correspondence. This will not affect the dollar amount of your scholarship award from semester to semester.

A Note About Test Scores

  • Test scores must be from a single sitting (no super scoring) taken by December 2024 or earlier.
  • The optional writing section in the redesigned SAT will not be required for admissions or scholarship purposes.
  • The writing section of the ACT will no longer be required for admissions or scholarship purposes.

Currently Enrolled Student Scholarships
